CNN International Reporter/Anchor, Atlanta: 1999 - 2008
Currently based at the CNN Headquarters in Atlanta, Femi reports for CNN International, CNN’s global network. She also anchors and reports for the documentary series “Global Challenges” and reports for the news and current affairs program “Inside Africa”. Hosting duties include anchoring the daily international newscast “World Report”, and Femi is a regular correspondent for special events like the Olympics, and specializes in environment and science based features as well as being one of the networks few international weather correspondents.
BBC Reporter, Anchor, Producer, United Kingdom: 1988-1998
Femi joined the BBC as a local radio news researcher. Ten remarkable years later she was a national television anchor and reporter. BBC highlights include reporting for the World Service, launching network Radio 5, traveling the world to file science stories for BBC Education, reporting for regional and network radio, and hosting Britain’s longest running music show “Top Of The Pops”.
Commercial Broadcasting, United Kingdom: 1982 - 1999
Mixing up BBC assignments with commercial television and radio was a great way of getting a diverse range of broadcasting experience. As a teenager Femi reported for London’s first talk radio network. After graduating from University she won awards as producer of ITV’s network Saturday morning entertainment magazine show; reported for local television news in London and Birmingham; reported for “edgy” newcomer Channel 4; was nominated for a “Bafta” (British equivalent of an Emmy) for producing a hit magazine show for Channel 5 and a raucous live debate show for Central Television.
